WHY WOULD I JOIN THE PTO?
The organization is a blend of parents, teachers and administration.
Our efforts are on a volunteer basis and we have become a success based
on volunteers just like you who donate either time or ideas or both.
Your contributions matter to the school and there are always
plenty of opportunities to get involved during the days, in the evenings
or on the weekends. Volunteering is an excellent way to meet
new people and other parents of students in the school.
We will have a representative at our annual Family Night to
answer questions about the PTO and distribute membership forms.
You may join at any time during the school year, however we encourage
you to try and make the monthly meetings to hear about all of the
exciting events in our school and to share your ideas.

WHAT ARE PTO FUNDRAISING EVENTS?
Our PTO is responsible for many of the fundraising events at Smyser.
These events can range from the annual Monster Bash, movie nights,
spirit clothing sales, Santas Workshop, Walk-a-Thon, Field Day,
as well as other various events and programs.
Every single dollar raised by the organization is used on behalf of our
students. The financial spending is transparent to the families of our
school and discussed at our regular meetings.
MARKET DAY INFORMATION
Market Day is a company that offers delicious food items with a bulk discount
and acts as a monthly fundraiser for our school. It is very easy to set up
and establish an online account to order your items. You may pay on the site
at checkout or bring in cash / check on the day you pick up your products.
All of the products are fresh, packed with flavor and easy to prepare.
There are many items for lunches, appitizers, desserts and full meals.

BOX TOPS & SOUP LABELS
Once again, Smyser will be participating in the
BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION PROGRAM. The symbol for
BOX TOPS can easily be found on many name brand household items.
The students are asked to collect the BOX TOPS and donate the tops
to their teacher or classroom collection box. The website provides
a list of hundreds of products that have the symbol, as well as
coupons for their sponsored products.
Cambell Soup has a similar program called
LABELS FOR EDUCATION and the students are also
encouraged to collect labels from the products.
